LENGTH:- SPECIFIES THE CURRENT UNIT OF MEASUREMENT AND THE PRECISION FOR THE CURRENT UNITS.

TYPE:- SETS THE CURRENT FORMAT FOR UNITS OF MEASURE. THE VALUES INCLUDE ARCHITECTURAL, DECIMAL, ENGINEERING, FRACTIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC. THE ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTURAL FORMATS PRODUCE FEET AND INCHES DISPLAYS AND ASSUME THAT EACH DRAWING UNIT REPRESENTS ONE INCH. THE OTHER FORMATS CAN REPRESENT ANY REAL-WORLD UNIT.

PRECISION:- SETS THE NUMBER OF DECIMAL PLACES OR FRACTIONALSIZE DISPLAYED FOR LINER MEASUREMENTS.

ANGLE:- SPECIFIES THE CURRENT ANGLE FORMAT AND PRECISION FOR THE CURRENT ANGLE DISPLAY.

TYPE:- SETS THE CURRENT ANGLE FORMAT.

PRECISION:- SETS THE PRECISION FOR THE CURRENT ANGLE DISPLAY.THE FOLLOWING CONVENTIONS ARE USED FOR THE VARIOUS ANGLE MEASURES; DECIMAL DEGREES APPEAR AS DECIMAL NUMBERS, GRADS APPEAR WITH A LOWERCASE G SUFFIX AND REDIANS APPEAR WITH A LOWER SUFFIX. SURVEYOR'S UNITS SHOW ANGLES AS BEARINGS, USING N OR S FOR NORTH OR SOUTH, DEGREES/MINUTES/SECONDS FOR HOW FAR EAST OR WEST THE ANGLE IS FROM DIRECT NORTH OR SOUTH, AND E OR W FOR EAST OR WEST.IF THE ANGLE IS PRECISELY  NORTH,SOUTH,EAST OR WEST, ONLY THE SINGLE LETTER REPRESENTING THE COMPASS POINT DISPLAYED.

CLOCKWISE:- CALCULATE POSITIVE ANGLES IN CLOCKWISE DIRECTIONS. THE DEFAULT DIRECTION FOR POSITIVE ANGLES IS COUNTERCLOCKWISE. WHEN PROMPTED AN ANGLE, POINT OUT THE DESIRED DIRECTION OR ENTER AN ANGLE REGARDLESS OF THE SETTING SPECIFIED FOR CLOCKWISE.

INSERTION SCALE:- CONTROLS THE UNIT OF MEASUREMENT FOR BLOCKS AND DRAWINGS THAT ARE INSERTED INTO THE CURRENT DRAWING. A BLOCK OR A DRAWING THAT IS CREATED WITH UNITS THAT ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE UNITS SPECIFIED WITH THIS OPTION IS SCALED WHEN INSERTED. THE INSERTION SCALE IS THE RATIO OF THE UNITS USED IN THE SOURCE BLOCK OR DRAWING AND THE UNITS USED IN THE TARGET DRAWING. SELECT UNITLESS OR INSERT THE BLOCK WITHOUT SCALING IT TO ,ATCH THE SPECIFIED UNITS.

SAMPLE OUTPUT:- DISPLAYS AN EXAMPLE OF THE CURRENT SETTINGS FOR UNITS AND ANGLES.

LIGHTING:- CONTROLS THE UNIT MEASUREMENT FOR THE INTENSITY OF PHOTOMETRIC LIGHTS IN THE CURRENT DRAWINGS.

DIRECTION:-

DISPLAYS THE DIRECTION CONTROL DIALOG BOX. IT DEFINES THE ANGLE DEGREE AND SPECIFIES THE DIRECTION IN WHICH THE ANGLES ARE MEASURED.

BASE ANGLE:- SETS THE DIRECTIONS OF THE ZERO ANGLE. THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS AFFECT THE ENTRY OF ANGLES, THE DISPLAY FORMAT, AND THE ENTRY OF POLAR, CYLINDRICAL, AND SPHERICAL  COORDINATES.

EAST/WEST/NORTH/SOUTH:- SPECIFIES THE COMPASS DIRECTION (EAST IS THE DEFAULT).

OTHER:- SPECIFIES A DIRECTION DIFFERENT FROM THE POINT OF COMPASS.

USER INTERFACE & COORDINATE SYSTEM & IMPORTANT COMMAND

    AUTOCAD USER INTERFACE:-

AUTOCAD USER INTERFACE DETAILS

COORDINATE SYSTEM:-   THERE ARE FOUR(4) TYPES OF

 COORDINATE-SYSTEM-

                    1. ABSOLUTE COORDINATE SYSTEM,

                    2. RELATIVE RECTANGULAR COORDINATE SYSTEM,

                    3. RELATIVE POLAR COORDINATE SYSTEM,

                    4. DIRECT DISTANCE ENTRY

1. ABSOLUTE COORDINATE SYSTEM:-

IN THE ABSOLUTE COORDINATE SYSTEM ALL POINTS
ARE MEASURED FROM THE ORIGIN (0,0). THEY ARE
SUITED TO SITUATIONS WHERE YOU KNOW THE EXACT
X AND Y LOCATION OF THE POINT YOU WANT TO
PLACE.

TO ENTER AN ABSOLUTE COORDINATE USE THE FORMAT
X,Y WHERE X IS THE DISTANCE AND DIRECTION ALONG THE HORIZONTAL AXIS FROM THE ORIGN (0,0). Y IS THE DISTANCE AND DIRECTION ALONG THE VERTICAL AXIS FROM THE ORIGN (0,0).

2. RELATIVE RECTANGULAR COORDINATE SYSTEM:-

 RELATIVE COORDINATE ENTTRIES ARE
BASED ON THE LAST POINT ENTERED. USE A RELATIVE COORDINATE WHEN
YOU KNOW THE LOCATION OF A POINT
IN RELATION TO THE PREVIOUS POINT.

TO SPECIFY A RELATIVE COORDINATE,
PRECEDE THE COORDINATE WITH THE
'@' SIGN USING THE FORMAT @ X,Y
WHERE @ INDICATES A RELATIVE DIS-
TANCE.

X IS THE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE
DISTANCE ALONG THE X AXIS FROM THE PREVIOUS POSITION . Y IS THE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE DISTANCE ALONG THE Y AXIS FROM THE PREVIOUS POINT.

3. RELATIVE POLAR COORDINATE SYSTEM:-

A COMBINATION OF ANGLE AND DISTANCE
INPUT IS CALLED POLAR COORDINATE. YOU
USE POLAR COORDINATE WHEN YOU KNOW
THE ANGLE AND THE DISTANCE FROM ONE POINT TO ANOTHER. IN AUTOCAD ANGLES
ARE POSITIVE (+) WHEN MEASURED
COUNTER-CLOCKWISE AND NEGATIVE (-)
WHEN MEASURED CLOCKWISE.

TO SPECIFY A RELATIVE POLAR COORDINATE,
PRECEDE THE COORDINATE WITH THE '@' SIGN
USING THE FORMAT @L<A. HERE L MEANS LENGTH AND A MEANS ANGLE.

4. DIRECT DISTANCE ENTRY:-

A SIMPLIFIED METHOD OF ENTERING COORDINATES WHEN THE DISTANCE AND DIRECTION FROM THE LAST POINT ARE KNOWN IS CALLED DIRECT DISTANCE ENTRY. IN A NUTSHELL, DIRECT DISTANCE ENTRY ELIMINATES THE NEED FOR MOST KEYBOARD ENTRY OF COORDINATES. DIRECT DISTANCE ENTRY CAN BE USED ANYTIME A COMMAND PROMPTS FOR A POINT
LOCATES THE NEXT POINT AT A SPECIFIED DISTANCE IN THE DIRECTION OF YOUR CURSOR
AT A PROMPT TO LOCATE A POINT, ENTER A NUMERIC VALUE
WITH DIRECT DISTANCE ENTRY, YOU CAN QUICKLY SPECIFY A POINT RELATIVE TO THE LAST POINT YOU ENTERED. AT ANY PROMPT FOR A POINT LOCATION, YOU MOVE THE CURSOR FIRST TO SPECIFY THE DIRECTION, AND THEN ENTER A NUMERIC DISTANCE.

IN THE FOLLOWING EXAMPLE, THE SECOND POINT FOR THE LINE WILL BE LOCATED 5 UNITS TOWARD THE DIRECTION OF THE CURSOR. THE DIRECT DISTANCE THAT YOU ENTER IS MEASURED ALONG THE PATH FROM THE LAST POINT TO THE CURRENT LOCATION OF THE CURSOR. THIS FEATURE IS USUALLY USED WITH ORTHO OR SNAP MODE TURNED ON.
